Hah, strolling through my LJ I realized nobody's posted anything here for A G E S... so I'm dropping by, curious if anyone will read this... and I thought I'd mention tablet weaving here. :)
Cause I've started doing that - points @ user icon - and was wondering if anyone's ever heard of it. :)
It's a medieval-ish type of weaving, meaning it dates back until back then... maybe even older - I'm really not sure.
And that's how I got into it - I love going to medieval faires and love making my own things for those, costumes, or simply decorations on bought costumes / clothes / bags / whatever...
And I find tablet-weaving great. :)

Here be more explanations about the what and how:

Hello everyone

I thought I would share my newest picture with you...

Finally finished my precious picture... I call it especially precious as this one really means a lot to me. I used colour pencils as well as water colour pencils, paint and as you might guess - glass stones. :)

Hi all, this is my first post so I will also introduce myself...I am an older eclectic pagan and a crone.  I study the path of the ancients, reaching back thousands of years to my ancestors in North America.
I recently joined the LJ BOM club (quilting) and I decided to make a series devoted to the Spirit of the Mushroom, which is a highly intelligent plant spirit with many teachings to be learned.

If you would like to see the series I have created,

Even tho they are "busy", I will be able to clarify the specific aspects of the blocks with sashing and quilting later in the process.
These are 3 fabric blocks comprised of an allover mushroom print, an orange and gold Goddess/Spirit print and a Green & blue batik.

If any of you would like to try quilting or sewing of any kind, I have been sewing for over 35 years and would be happy to answer questions.
Also, I hope you all have noticed how easy it is to take traditional craftwork and transform it into something more "crafty", shall we say?  :::smile:::

I hope you like them!
Blessings of Light!

Hi everyone

a bit of an update on my crafty side. :)
i made this wreath on order for a friend of mine - and she wanted *something sea-themed*...
unfortunately the pics don't show all the details - ask moi if you have any questions. :)
i actually love making themed stuff like a wreath like that.
i've made a ghosty-themed one and one winter-themed for myself last year as well. :)

cheers!

Hello everyone

I thought I'd post this as an update - maybe you'd like to see!? :)
The last 5 pictures are new - it only took me ages to finally upload them cause of holidays and lots of work... :(

I tried to describe them as best possible but feel free to ask if you have questions and as usual comments are always welcome. :)

I mentioned a bit back that I had started learning how to bead. I love it. It's very fiddley and can make me very cross sometimes but it is worth it as the beads are so sparkley and pretty!

Here are some of the little bags I have been makingCollapse )

Good day everyone

and happy St Patrick's Day to all of you who celebrate. :)
Yesterday I finally finished working on *The Elements* - a theme I've wanted to do for quite a while and that ended up as a bit of a bigger and more detailed work.
Needless to say that this drawing has become very dear to me. :)
And as you can see I very much enjoyed using my new pencils (new colours) as well as a tiny bit of glitter...

So... feel free to comment - as always. :)

I wish you a beautiful weekend - may spring finally arrive...

Amanda has just reminded me that I didn't post an update to how the stall went the other week! Whooopsie!

It did really well!

I managed to sell 4 of my 8 items, 3 bags and a tarot pouch! OK 3 other Witch Stitch members bought 2 of the bags and the pouch but a memner of the puplic bought one of the other bags!
Doesn't matter who bought them, as long as they got bought right?

I made nearly £50! I was well chuffed! I would have been happy if I had only sold one thing! At least i didn't feel a complete failier!

Some pics hereCollapse )
